RESPONSIBLE AQUACULTURE

We’re working alongside stakeholder groups including NGO’s, state and federal government agencies, academia, investors, entrepreneurs, industry, and the general public to explore and promote the possibilities for responsible and restorative aquaculture in our Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary and the waterways and watersheds that feed into it.

PATHWAYS TOWARD RESPONSIBLE AQUACULTURE

In August of 2018, Save Our Shores co-sponsored the Pathways Toward Responsible Aquaculture in California Forum held at Moss Landing Marine Labs. Nearly 150 people attended to better understand the possibilities for responsible aquaculture in our coastal zones. Aquaculture in California is still very much a nascent industry and this event is only one of many steps in helping to identify opportunities for responsible aquaculture development in our state and in our Sanctuary. Check this section of our website for future development as we explore responsible aquaculture options.
